Beautifully put. As smart, studios kids, a lot of us were taught that emotions are the enemy, that wants creates all the problem. I specifically remember the section from the highschool Sanskrit textbook where the body is described as a chariot with 5 horses, each horse representing one of the five senses, and intellect is the charioteer. The lesson was clear, you cannot let the senses be the master, they'll all go in different directions. The intellect needs to hold strong command on the senses (read emotions) to reach anywhere.
Now I have been realizing that emotions don't needs be slaves or a master to the intellect, they can be a beautiful ally.
